How does manuka honey work?

As wound fluid enters the dressing, the honey is released while the dressing absorbs it and forms a gel to create an optimal wound healing environment. Leptospermum Honey has been shown to have several active properties which assist in promoting an optimal healing environment while having a low pH to help lower the overall wound pH beneficial to chronic wounds.

Peel foil edges to allow aseptic removal.

Tips:

Clean the wound and its surroundings before applying the dressing

Peel off both pieces of the transparent protective film, then remove the honey gauze.

Place or pack dressing on into wound. (the shape of the product can be cut if necessary)

Use secondary dressing to keep in place.

Tips & Advice

Do not use if the inner packaging is damaged.If signs of clinical infection occur, consult a health care professional.Please make sure the gauze dressing pad 4″ x 4″ is bigger than the wound size.Fix the gauze dressing pad with a self-adhesive bandage and tube-like bandage or any other adhesive dressings.Suggest using it in combination with our “silicone foam dressing” for better wound protection.

Manuka Honey Gauze Dressing is a kind of sterile & breathable mesh tulle dressing. Manuka honey is medical-grade honey derived from the pollen and nectar of the Leptospermum species of plant in New Zealand and Australia, which can effectively care for wounds.
Manuka Medical Honey Dressing is suitable for wounds with exudate, whilst creating a sterile environment to promote wound healing. When wound discharge enters the Honey Gauze, the honey is released and the discharge is absorbed into the dressing. For dry wounds it is recommended to moisten the Honey Gauze Dressing with saline prior to application.
Manuka Honey is medical grade honey and is gentle on the skin. It can be secured with a bandage or tape. It can be removed painlessly and will not stick to the wound, ensuring minimal discomfort to the patient.
